jakarta, western-style diet (western diet) has been known to increase the risk of health problems such as obesity and heart disease. there is one more diet that you need to avoid, namely diet ala southerners (southern diet) which is known to increase the risk of stroke.people adopt western diets typically consume more junk food, soda, and other fatty foods. while force feeding southerners, like african americans, called the southern diet more consuming meat and offal that is served with the sauce.a study conducted earlier has shown that people who live in africa or south america are more likely to experience a stroke of up to 20 percent compared to north americans. this happens because of differences in diet styles between the two areas.according to recent research conducted by scientists from the university of alabama at birmingham and presented in the annual conference of the international stroke conference february 7, yesterday, someone who routinely adopt the diet style ala the southerners are at a higher risk for stroke.researchers analyzed the dietary habits of 20,000 adults older than 45 years through research that has been done since 2003 to 2007. research participants also participate in physical examination and blood tests every 6 months intervals for 5 years.the study found that people who eat a diet with a southern style about six times a week had a 41 percent increase in the risk of stroke compared to those who consumed the food once a month."southern-style food consumption diet like foods that are fried, offal, meat cache and can even increase the risko stroke up to 30 percent even though you don't smoke and aren't obese," said suzanne judd, phd, lead author of the study, as reported by everydayhealth, sunday (10/2/2013).but not all diet style ala southerners are bad, because all of this depends on the election. there are southern-style food diet that is good for health as many green cabbage grown in america. other foods such as fruits, vegetables, and protein source such as skinless chicken and fish can reduce the risk of stroke is thus to 20 percent.(vit/vit )
